Stories from Ramgarh

Case Study 1: Stitching a Future – Pooja’s Journey into Tailoring and Independence

Pooja, an 18-year-old from Ramgarh Shekhawati, comes from a family where money is tight and future plans often take a back seat to daily survival. But with guidance and support from the local skills program, she began a tailoring course – and discovered both talent and purpose.

Within three months, she was sewing fashionable clothes and earning a small but steady income by stitching for her neighbors.

She’s now continuing her college studies while contributing financially at home.

Her story shows what can happen when a girl is given the chance to build a skill that’s valued by her family and rooted in her culture – yet opens new doors for her independence.

Case Study 3: Dreaming Beyond Limits – Meera’s Path to Becoming an IPS Officer

Meera, a bright 16-year-old from a small hamlet near Ramgarh, once believed that dreams like becoming an IPS officer were out of reach for someone like her.

Raised in a modest home with limited resources and caring for a mother with a disability, Meera’s world was filled with responsibility and quiet resilience.

Through career guidance sessions, she discovered not only what the IPS was – but how she could begin preparing for it. With a clear goal, increased confidence, and her family's support.

Meera is now focused on her studies and physical fitness. For the first time, she sees her dream not as a fantasy, but as something she can work toward.

Case Study 2: Opening New Worlds – Neha’s First Steps into Technology

Neha, a quiet but determined 18-year-old from Ramgarh, had never touched a computer before joining the program. As the eldest of four children in a family that makes ends meet through sewing and polishing furniture, her world was small – but her ambitions weren’t.

Through regular computer classes, career guidance sessions, and exposure to practical digital tools, Neha gained confidence, clarity, and a sense of possibility. She’s now exploring future paths in government service and higher education, and even encourages other girls to learn computer skills.

For her, technology didn’t replace tradition – it expanded what was possible within it.

Note: The names of the girls have been changed to protect their identity.
